Learning & Development Sub Committee

Terms of Reference

The Learning & Development Sub Committee meets bi-monthly and is responsible for ensuring that high quality single-agency and multi-agency training on safeguarding and promoting welfare for children and young people is provided at different levels in order to meet local needs. Core child protection and specialist courses are arranged throughout the year.  To see our upcoming training click here and read our Training & Development Strategy 2016-19

The sub committee supports the LSCB Training Manager in the planning, delivering and evaluating of multi-agency training. This ensures all those coming into contact with or working with children are competent and up to date with current legislation, local procedures and best practice. This sub committee supports the Brighton & Hove Learning & Improvement Framework to strengthen and support a learning culture across partner agencies. It works closely with other LSCB sub-groups, notably the Participation & Engagement, Monitoring & Evaluation and Serious Case Review sub-committees, to ensure the output of one sub-committee informs the input to another.
